I finally have gotten a gorgeous custom quilt designed and created by the uber talented quilting artist Teri Vezzani. I was completely over the moon when it arrived! If anything, it is more lovely in person than it was in the photos. Most all of the best things in life are!!
I love butterflies and fell in love at first sight when I saw this particular quilt. The colors had such a beautiful impact on me in the best way and I just knew I had to have this in my home to lively up the ambiance here!!
As you look through all her various patterns you will find yourself having a difficult time deciding because they are all so lovely. One of the things that impresses me the most about Teri V. is that she is a fellow dog lover, and had used her beautiful Doberman Pinscher family members as her exquisite muses for many of her quilts. Doberman Pinschers are a breed I've had in my life as well and love them dearly.
My next quilt from Teri will most likely need to be a Dobie Centric theme just because I no longer have my beloved Dobie girl who passed in 2017, and she was everything to me.
Thanks again to Teri Vezzani for making such delicious and colorful "Quilts As Art" for all of us to enjoy and to help brighten our lives.

Picked up my quilt, from Teri today and all I can say is WOW! These pictures do not do her work justice!
She made this quilt for my daughter and created the perfect design. I explained what I was looking for, she asked questions about my daughter, and really listened...every detail is such a piece of my girl!
Even the back has the most luxurious blue fabric.. The whole thing is perfection! I just had to show it off and say thank you again to Teri Quilts Designs You're the best! -

“I opened an unexpected package today and was overwhelmed... It hasn't been a great couple of weeks, and it warmed my heart. I received a stunning gift from the incredibly talented Teri Mills Vezzani - a beautiful fur-baby quilt! It is even completed with stitching of a Chihuahua on the inside. I'm no stranger to her remarkable work, and I'm humbled by her generosity. Teri has been a long-time supporter of our heartfelt causes, and her kindness means to the world to me. I've had her quilts in my hands as she generously donated quilts for my brother's memorial basket party years ago and have always admired them. Her quilts are not only exquisite pieces of art but also testaments to her skill and dedication. By supporting Teri's small business, you'll not only be getting a unique, handmade treasure but also helping a fellow dog lover pursue her passion. Please take a moment to explore Teri's remarkable work and consider supporting her business. I'm so grateful to have this beautiful quilt, and I know you'll love her creations just as much as I do! Buzzkill here. Bear with me, please. There is a point. Today was the first day I left Franklin Allen after surgery. El Jefe was home, but I was still a nervous wreck. We have yet to sleep through the night. I am surviving on short sleep increments, as many of you have done with your babies. I just put Franklin to bed with his last round of meds and his surgery pajamas, and realized I had yet to open the mail from today. I sat down, exhausted, and proceeded to read the mail. We order a lot of stuff from amazon. So, there were boxes. I usually forget what I ordered. In the first box was mustard for El Jefe. (He likes a certain kind from Ohio). Without looking at the box label, I opened the second box. I burst into tears, ugly, snotty, tears, because I was holding...The Quilt. A week or two ago, Terri Mills-Vezzani asked people to nominate a person or Rescue to receive her artwork in the form of a quilt. Melanie Dodge, Bonnie Radigan, and Plum Constantine (Queen Fi) mentioned me as a potential recipient. They said nice things about me. They were kind. They were compassionate. (They might have been tipsy when they wrote their words- haha!) I was flattered. I do not think of myself as a particularly nice person. I obsess over my dogs, and I kind of suck at talking to people in person. I sound much better on paper. (Those who have met me can totally verify this one). I am most definitely flawed. And yet, this quilt was sitting in my house. I sat there at the dining table this evening and stared at the quilt for a long time. I marveled at the time, talent, and general awesomeness it took to make this item. I am always in awe of those who can sew and create with textiles. My mom could do that and it was amazing to watch. It’s like magic. At least it is to me. After the “oh my goodness, this is beautiful!” thought passed through my brain, I then thought it was sent to me by mistake. So many other people are more deserving. Then, I cried some more. You see, today I spent the day frustrated at myself for not being a better dog parent, teacher, wife, and human. I could have been more prepared for class today. I could have done something more for Franklin before I left. I should have cleaned the house. I should have found the bandage Franklin ate before he ate it. I should have known something was wrong with Franklin’s tummy, Twist’s leg, Peter’s leg, and Dora’s heart. (I do that a lot.) After that deluge of self-doubt came out (but without snotting on the quilt), I remembered what these beautiful women said about me. I don’t deserve the words, but I will accept them most humbly. So, I stopped crying. Because of these women- Melanie, Fi, Bonnie, and Terri- I had a moment of pure kindness and love in my life today for no reason I could control. What more of a gift could one want? Nothing. The kindness of others is real, and I am a grateful recipient of the goodness in the world that exists within these strong and beautiful and kind and funny women. The quilt is beautiful. I will treasure this artwork forever. (Franklin will not be allowed near it!) To you ladies who have done more than you will ever know to make me a better human, I thank you. Thank you for whatever I did right that made me your friend.

Teri thank you so much for the stunning quilted wall art. The minute silver specks, invisible in your online photo, add remarkable elegance.
I have selected the perfect spot for its display upon redoing my living room.
Thank you again.....

While I've never met Terri in person, we are connected forever now by the beautiful quilts she made for me! My father suddenly passed due to a motorcycle accident & my emptiness was - is overwhelming. When you have nothing real left in this world to cling to, you WISH for something, ANYTHING to hold on to. I remembered I had asked my father years before if he still had any of his Airforce uniforms left he'd send me? I wanted to make a military quilt with his, even though I'm really not good at sewing. Well, I never could pull myself to take them apart & risk ruining the uniforms he had worn since enlistment before Vietnam. I started seeing all of the breathtakingly AMAZING EXPERT level quilts Terri was donating for Doberman rescues. Eventually I gathered up enough courage to ask her if I could commission a quilt from my father's military uniforms. Terri was more than EXCITED to work on the quilt for me! I left her in complete control, because she CLEARLY knows what she's doing & also because I can't even speak of him without having a meltdown. When I received my stunning quilts from her, well those were the first happy tears I managed while thinking of my dad. Each of the designs has pieces of his uniforms of his lifetime.. She sewed patches, ranks even used his pants tags to make them personal. Never in my lifetime could I have hoped for anything this perfect to hold on to. I will ALWAYS appreciate , love & cherish Terri & the work put into these quilts for me! I'm happy to answer any questions if someone has them.
